Leading the way for the Red Foxes was
Amari Mathis, who delivered a dominant sprint performance in both of his preliminary events. Mathis posted the fastest time in the 60-meter dash trials at 6.75 seconds and followed it up with another top finish in the 200-meter dash trials, clocking 21.70 to qualify for both finals and establish himself as one of the top contenders heading into championship Sunday.
Marist saw additional success on the track in the 400-meter dash, where
Ryan Trocolar secured a spot in the finals with a fourth-place qualifying time of 48.63. In the mile,
Miles Chamberlain continued his strong season, earning a second-place finish in the trials with a time of 4:21.33 to advance.
Christopher Lynch added to the momentum with a personal-best performance in the 60-meter hurdles. His time of 8.48 was good for seventh overall and a berth in the finals.
In distance events, the Red Foxes placed two runners in the top 10 of the 5,000 meters, as
Jackson Borge (8th, 14:54.02) and
Kieran Donnelly (9th, 14:54.32) delivered key scoring efforts. The distance medley relay team of
Sean Wilson,
Adam Staffier,
Dante Melfi, and
Matthew Ferreri also contributed with a fourth-place finish in 10:22.22.
In the field,
Daniel Vargas recorded a personal-best clearance of 4.28 meters in the pole vault to place fifth.
Ramsey Heredia (7th) and
Manasi Simpkins (8th) both scored in the long jump with marks over 6.65 meters.
The highlight of the field events came in the weight throw, where
Hayden Mundrake set a new school record with a mark of 14.17 meters.
With several athletes advancing to finals and momentum building across events, Marist is well-positioned heading into the final day of competition on Sunday
