POGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Marist water polo team won two Kap7 MAAC Water Polo player of the week awards. Ines Sanchez won co-defensive player of the week, making this her fourth time winning this award. Jolanta Szentpali secured her first rookie of the week award.
 
Sanchez played in both matches this past weekend for the Red Foxes, helping them win against Iona and Salem. In the first match versus Iona, she saved 16 out of 25 shots against her for a save percentage of 64%. Against Salem she saved five of 10 shots for 50% while also scoring her first career goal on senior night.
 
Szentapli also played in both matches versus Iona and Salem. In the match against Iona, she scored two goals. Against Salem she scored one goal while also recording two steals. Overall, she recorded three goals and two steals on the weekend.
