LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Marist University women's basketball team fell to Siena, 67-57, on Saturday afternoon at the UHY Center.

Senior captain guard Lexie Tarul led the Red Foxes with 16 points, freshman forward Justine Henry added 14 points and seven rebounds, while senior captain guard Jackie Piddock chipped in 10 points.

The Saints dominated the rebounding battle 50-21, including a 23-5 advantage on the offensive glass which led to 19 second-chance points that proved to be too much to overcome.

Marist concludes the regular season with a 11-19 record and 8-12 in MAAC play, while Siena finishes 13-16 overall and 11-9 in conference action.
 

FIRST QUARTER

• The Saints took a 9-5 lead at the first media timeout with 4:44 to go in the opening frame.
• Marist trailed 17-13 after one quarter of play.

SECOND QUARTER

• Siena opened the second quarter with a 6-0 spurt to take a 23-13 lead at the 8:43 mark.
• The Red Foxes responded with a 7-0 run, capped by a Piddock 3-pointer, to cut the deficit to 25-22 with 4:29 remaining in the first half.
• The Saints countered with a 7-0 run of their own to extend the lead back to double digits at 32-22 with 1:50 to play.
• Marist trailed 32-25 at halftime.

THIRD QUARTER

• Siena opened the second half with an 11-2 run, increasing its advantage to 43-27 at the 5:15 mark.
• Back-to-back mid-range jumpers from Tarul made it 43-31, prompting a Siena timeout with 3:29 to go in the third.
• The Red Foxes trailed 51-37 through three quarters.

FOURTH QUARTER

• Marist opened the final frame with an 11-3 run to cut the deficit to 54-48 with 3:54 to play in the game.
• The Saints held on to secure the 67-57 victory.

• The Red Foxes are the #9 seed in the MAAC Championships and will play #8 Manhattan on Thursday, March 5 in Atlantic City.
