POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Red Fox River Rumble proved to be a statement meet for the Marist men's track & field team, as the Red Foxes turned in a dominant, well-rounded performance highlighted by nine event victories, a school record, and several breakthrough performances.
Leading the way was Ryan Trocolar, who etched his name into the program record books in the 400-meter dash. Trocolar crossed in 48.38 to break the previous school record set just last season, while also adding a personal-best performance in the 200-meter dash.
One of the biggest storylines of the weekend came in the 1,500-meter run, where Miles Chamberlain delivered a breakout performance. Chamberlain surged to first place in 3:50.23, a four-second personal best and the second-fastest time in school history, establishing himself as a major contender in the event.
The Red Foxes showcased remarkable depth in the hurdles, particularly in the 400-meter hurdles where Marist swept the top four spots. Emmanuel Harris led the charge with a personal-best 55.15 to take the win, followed closely by Miracle Okoli, Simon Advento (personal best), and Adam Staffier (personal best) to complete a dominant 1-2-3-4 finish.
Distance events were another strong point for Marist. Jackson Borge captured first in the 3,000 meters with a personal-best time, while Logan Schaeffler and Kevin Cannon went 1-2 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, further emphasizing the team's strength across distance disciplines.
The sprint relays added to the first-place total, as Marist A won the 4x100-meter relay in a season-best 41.19 — the second-fastest time in school history — and the 4x400-meter relay in 3:17.57.
In the field, Daniel Vargas cleared 3.90 meters to win the pole vault, while Manasi Simpkins delivered a strong performance in the long jump, taking first with a season-best mark of 6.79 meters. Simpkins also contributed on the track with a personal best in the 200-meter dash.
Across sprints, hurdles, distance, and field events, the Red Foxes displayed both high-end talent and depth, combining record-breaking performances with key breakthroughs in the inaugural Red Fox River Rumble.
