Marist Football Holds Annual Spring Game

Red Foxes Continue to Build Momentum

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University held its annual Spring Game Saturday afternoon at Tenney Stadium.

Despite rainy and cold conditions, a vibrant crowd was on hand to see the Red Foxes wrap up their spring season. The two-hour session consisted of multiple team periods, special teams work, situational work, and individual drills.

The game also wrapped up a weekend full of events connected to the program, including its legacy dinner on Friday night.

"I thought our spring weekend was awesome," head coach Mike Willis said. "It was a great reflection of the work our players, alumni, family, and friends have put in to put our team in a position to succeed. I enjoyed the legacy dinner, the spring game itself, and had a blast connecting with our football family at the tailgate afterward. It was evident to me that we are continuing to take positive sides culturally, on the field, and in the greater Marist community. Marist got better today!"

Prior to Saturday's game, 14 practices were held beginning on March 24. Coming off a season in which the Red Foxes improved their win total by four from the previous year, Willis sees a program that is continuing to make strides.

"This was our best spring yet during my tenure here at Marist," Willis said. "We became more detailed in our preparation, more explosive on the field, and more connected as a team. I am very excited to carry momentum from the spring into our summer training and preseason camp."

Marist is heading into its third season under Willis' leadership in the 2026 season.

The Red Foxes will have six home games, and 12 contests overall, in the 2026 season. Marist opens play on Friday, Aug. 28 at New Haven. The first game at Tenney Stadium will be against Franklin Pierce on Friday, Sept. 4.
