Red Foxes Roll to 15-4 Triumph in Series Finale

BUFFALO, New York – The Marist University softball team completed a series sweep at Canisius with a 15-4 victory in Saturday's series finale.

The teams had to endure three delays. First pitch was pushed back and hour, and there were two in-game delays in the top of the second and top of the fourth.

Summary

  • The Red Foxes added two more in the top of the second. Lily Roumelis walked with one out, and she came home on Haley Ahr's sacrifice fly. Sienna Kunze's RBI single scored Pusey.
  • Canisius loaded the bases with none out in the bottom of the second, but Anna Sidlowski kept the Golden Griffins off the scoreboard.
  • Marist extended its lead to 9-0 with a five-run third. Manory led off with an infield single, and she scored on a double by Samantha Rogers. Sidlowski then belted a two-run homer. A sacrifice bunt by Geiser scored Roumelis, and Ahr's sacrifice fly brought in Pusey.
  • Rogers came home on an error in the fourth, which gave Marist a 10-0 advantage.
