WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Marist men's track & field team delivered a historic performance of its own at the Colonial Relays, placing sixth out of 23 teams with 54 points at Zable Stadium on April 3-4. The finish marks the highest team placement in program history for the Red Foxes.
Marist's success was fueled by standout performances across the sprints, distance events, and hurdles, highlighted by a dominant showing from Amari Mathis. Mathis led the charge with a victory in the 200-meter dash (21.32) and a runner-up finish in the 100-meter dash (10.46), establishing himself as one of the top sprinters at the meet.
On the distance side, the Red Foxes showcased impressive depth, particularly in the 10,000 meters, where Jackson Borge placed third with a personal-best time of 31:22.38, followed closely by Kieran Donnelly in fourth (31:26.78). Davis Haines added a personal-best performance as well. In the 5,000 meters, Marist placed three runners in the top 20, led by Logan Schaeffler's 10th-place finish.
Miles Chamberlain highlighted the middle-distance group with a sixth-place finish in the invitational 1,500 meters, clocking a personal-best 3:54.57, while Kaleb Stoeckmann added a personal best in the unseeded section. Joaquin Bell-Andrade contributed in both individual and relay events, posting a season-best time in the 800 meters.
In the hurdles, Christopher Lynch turned in a strong performance with a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles, recording a personal-best 14.98. The 400-meter hurdles group added depth with three top-11 finishes, including personal bests from Emmanuel Harris and Simon Advento.
The steeplechase saw Kevin Cannon earn a podium finish, placing third with a personal-best 9:28.26.
Marist's relay teams also contributed valuable points, with the sprint medley relay finishing third and the 4x400 relay placing fifth. The 4x400 squad featured a balanced effort, including a strong anchor leg from Simeon Washington.
In the field, Manasi Simpkins led the way in the long jump with a ninth-place finish, while Daniel Vargas posted a season-best mark in the pole vault.
Across the board, the Red Foxes recorded numerous personal-best and season-best performances, underscoring a well-rounded effort in one of the most successful meets in program history.
