POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team earned two one-run wins over Siena on Friday, prevailing in both games by a scores of 5-4.
 
The Red Foxes' winning streak now stands at 13.
 

Game One Summary

• Siena scored first in the second on an infield single by Carlie Venables.
• The Saints took a 4-0 lead in the third on an RBI single by Gracie Goewey, and a two-run double by Cali DeLawder.
• Marist tied the game in the bottom of the third with a two-out rally. Haley Ahr's single brought in Peyton Pusey, and Sienna Kunze followed with a three-run homer.
• Marist scored the game's final run in the fourth. Samantha Rogers drew a lead-off walk, and she came home on Pusey's two-out single.
• Marist finished with 10 hits, led by Pusey with three.
• Kunze went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
• Anna Sidlowski (9-5) with the first five innings for the win. Ava Metzger retired all six batters she faced in the sixth and seventh for her first save.

 

Game Two Summary

• Marist broke open a scoreless tie with three in the fourth. Sidlowski and Annabelle Geiser delivered RBI singles.
• Siena scored two in the fifth, with one on an Ella Milante sacrifice fly, and another an on error.
• Kunze's solo homer gave Marist a 4-2 lead in the fifth.
• With two outs in the seventh, Emma Petersen's two-run single tied the game, but Petersen was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a double by Pusey.
• Ahr was hit to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Kunze followed with a double to the gap in right center, which brought in Ahr with the winning run.
• Marist had 11 hits, led by Kunze and Lily Roumelis with two apiece.
• Stella Blanchard allowed two earned runs over the first six innings with five strikeouts. Metzger (9-3) pitched the seventh to get the win.
