Red Foxes Set for NCAA Tournament Bout With Stony Brook

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - For the first time since 2019, Marist men's lacrosse will host an NCAA Tournament game, as the Red Foxes welcome Stony Brook to Poughkeepsie for an opening round bout inside Tenney Stadium. The opening faceoff is set for a 7 p.m. start on ESPN+, with the winner taking on top-seeded Princeton on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • Marist defeated rival Siena Saints, 12-8, on Saturday at Hickey Field to capture the 2026 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship and clinch an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
  • The title is Marist's first since 2023 and the fifth MAAC championship in program history— the most of any team in conference history.
  • Marist scored five goals in the opening quarter and added four more in the second to take a commanding 9-4 lead into halftime.
  • Collin Patrick led the offensive charge with a hat trick and an assist, including a late-second-quarter goal that extended the Red Foxes' momentum heading into the break. 
  • Peter Murray and Sean Mullan each added two goals, while Drew Anderson contributed a pair of goals and an assist in a balanced scoring effort.
  • Defensively, Marist was anchored by tournament MVP Richie Metzger, who made 12 saves in a complete-game effort in goal.

  • With the victory, head coach Dave Scarcello made program history in just his second season, becoming the second Marist alum to win a MAAC title as a student-athlete, assistant coach, and head coach.
