FAIRFIELD, CT – The Marist women's soccer team earned its second win of Metro Conference play, defeating Sacred Heart 3-2 at Park Ave Field.Â
Sophomore Mia Katchouni put Marist on the board early, scoring in the third minute. They would keep the lead until the 19th minute, when a goal by Shea Kelleher tied the game.
In the 33rd minute, Sacred Heart scored again after both teams had similar offensive control throughout the half.
Not long after, Katchouni recorded her second goal of the day, assisted by Marissa Foster, as they went into halftime tied 2-2.
Early in the second half, Mia Fluckiger gave Marist the lead that would last them the rest of the game.
After the contest, Marist's record improves to 2-5-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference, while Sacred Heart's falls to 6-1-0 overall and 1-1-0 in conference.
The Red Foxes will be back in action next Saturday, Sept. 19 as they travel to Quinnipiac.
