SMITHFIELD, Rhode Island – Marist Volleyball concluded its weekend at the Bryant Invitational with a four-set victory over Bryant (25-17, 27-25, 21-25, 25-21) on Saturday morning. The Red Foxes improved to 4-6 on the 2026 season.
Marist got off to a strong start by taking the opening set.
Mallory Reck paced the offense with six kills, while
Taylor Miller added five.
Caelyn Dumas played a pivotal role in the set, recording 13 assists and four digs. The Red Foxes maintained their momentum by winning the second set to extend their lead.
Sarah Bumstead and Reck each tallied four kills, while
Sara Dasic led the defensive effort with six digs.
Bryant did not go quietly, winning the third set to cut the match deficit to 2-1. However, Marist responded in the fourth set to secure the 3-1 victory. In the final frame, Reck once again led the offense with four kills, while Dumas distributed eight assists.
Top Performances
- Mallory Reck recorded a team-high 17 kills and added six digs.
- Caelyn Dumas totaled 47 assists and 11 digs for the Red Foxes.
- Taylor Miller finished with 13 kills, while Molly Malone also reached double figures with 11 kills.
- Cecilia Potter-Pessoa led the defense with 13 digs.
The Red Foxes will conclude their season-opening road trip at the Oakland Invitational from Friday, Sept. 18, through Saturday, Sept. 19. Marist is scheduled to face Oakland and Illinois State.
