LOUDONVILLE, New York – Marist volleyball traveled north to face the Siena Saints on Tuesday evening. The Red Foxes fell to the Saints in four sets (25-20, 25-27, 22-25, 23-25). Marist drops to 7-9 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.
In set one, the Red Foxes came out strong and took the opening frame over Siena.
Mallory Reck led the way with four kills and four digs in the set.
Caelyn Dumas was consistent on both sides of the ball, recording 12 assists and four digs.
Set two was back and forth until the very end before the Saints pulled away to take the set and tie the match. Despite dropping the frame, Reck added another six kills and four digs, while Dumas recorded 16 assists.
Trinity Woods tallied five kills and three digs in the set.
In set three, the Saints took the lead in the match after another close battle. Reck and Dumas stayed hot, with Reck racking up seven kills and Dumas dishing out 16 assists. Siena closed out the match in set four to win in the game 3-1.
Top Performances:
- Caelyn Dumas recorded a career-high 56 assists for the Red Foxes while adding 11 digs.
- Mallory Reck also recorded a career-high with 25 kills in the game while adding 15 digs.
- Cecilia Potter-Pessoa had her best match of the season, recording 21 digs to lead the defense.
- Trinity Woods tallied 11 kills for the Red Foxes' offense
The Red Foxes return home for their Metro Conference home opener against Iona on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
