DENVER, Colorado – Marist Volleyball remained on the road this week, traveling to Colorado for the Denver Invitational. The Red Foxes opened the weekend Thursday afternoon against the University of Idaho where they fell in five sets (15-25, 25-17, 19-25, 25-16, 8-15). Marist moves to 0-4 in the 2026 campaign.
Marist dropped the first set but responded quickly with a dominant performance in set two.
Mallory Reck and
Sarah Bumstead led the offense with three kills apiece, while
Molly Malone recorded three block assists and
Sara Dasic added four digs defensively.
After falling in set three, the Red Foxes remained relentless and once again evened the match in set four to force a decisive fifth set. Reck starred in the fourth set with seven kills and four digs. Despite forcing a fifth set, Marist ultimately fell to the Vandals, 3-2.
Top Performances
- Mallory Reck led the way for the Red Foxes with 22 kills, 15 digs, three assists, and three blocks.
- Sarah Bumstead reached double figures with 10 kills while also recording a block and a dig.
- Sara Dasic totaled 13 digs and two blocks on defense while adding eight kills offensively.
- Caelyn Dumas continued her strong play, dishing out 41 assists.
Marist Volleyball continues play at the Denver Invitational on Friday afternoon when the Red Foxes face SIUE at 5 p.m. ET.
