WORCESTER, Massachusetts – Marist Volleyball traveled to Holy Cross on Tuesday evening, falling to the Crusaders 3-1 (17-25, 25-15, 24-26, 16-25). The Red Foxes move to 1-6 on the season.
Marist dropped the opening set but quickly responded by taking the second.
Mallory Reck led the way with eight kills and four digs in the frame, while
Caelyn Dumas dished out eight assists.
The Crusaders claimed the third set, 26-24, but the Red Foxes did not make it easy.
Sara Dasic recorded five kills in the set, while Dumas added another 11 assists. Despite the effort, Marist fell to Holy Cross in the fourth set to drop the match, 3-1.
Top Performances
- Mallory Reck continued to lead the team, tallying 16 kills, 10 digs, and 17.5 points in the match.
- Caelyn Dumas recorded 34 assists and 10 digs for the Red Foxes.
- Sara Dasic reached double figures with 10 kills.
- Cecilia Potter-Pessoa paced the defense with a team-high 13 digs.
- The Red Foxes head to Bryant University for the Bryant Invitational beginning Friday, Sept. 11.
- Marist will play three matches, including two against Bryant and one against Fordham.
