Men's Basketball

Two former Red Foxes – Chavaughn Lewis and Adam Kemp – played in NBA Summer Leagues this year.

Lewis played for the Philadelphia 76ers in the Utah Summer League, and saw action in three games. In his final contest, he drained a three-pointer. Lewis played for the Red Foxes from 2011-15, and graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,119 career points.

Kemp played for the Detroit Pistons in the Orlando Summer League. In three games, which included one start, he totaled four rebounds and a blocked shot. Kemp played for Marist from 2010-14, and played the 2014-15 season for KK Feni Industries in Macedonia. There, he shot .618 from the field and averaged 12.1 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocked shots per game this year.

Over the years, a number of men's basketball players have continued their playing careers overseas. Jared Jordan, who played for the Red Foxes from 2003-07, has played professionally for the past eight years in a career which has included time in Lithuania, the NBA D-League, Germany, Greece and Spain. This past season, Jordan played for San Sebastian Gipuzkoa in Spain, and averaged a team-best 7.0 assists per game.

A Red Fox from 2010-14, Pieter Prinsloo played his first professional season in El Salvador, and helped ExSAL ST win a league championship.

Football

Two former Marist football players, Terrence Fede and Jason Myers, are currently under contract to NFL teams.

Fede is getting ready for his second season with the Miami Dolphins. In 2014, he became the first Marist football player to be chosen in the NFL Draft, when he was selected in the seventh round by the Dolphins. Fede played in 11 games for Miami last season at defensive end and on special teams, and blocked a punt for a game-winning safety in the final minute against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 16.

Myers signed a free-agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars on March 3, and participated with the team in Organized Team Activities and mini-camp. He will be one of two kickers on the roster when the Jaguars head to training camp.

In recent years, a considerable number of Marist football players have continued their careers in arena football and overseas. Chris Debowski and Peter Evans were teammates on the Valencia Firebats, which captured their league championship in Spain this summer.
