November 28, 2000 -- The Boston College Eagles (4-0) remained undefeated on the season as they handed the Marist College men's basketball team (1-3) a 65-74 loss tonight in Conte Forum in Boston, MA.
The Eagles entered halftime with a slight advantage, leading by five points, 35-30. Marist pulled within one on a Rick Smith (Bladensburg, MD) three pointer with 14:56 on the game clock, but the Eagles used a 10-4 run following to take a seven point lead with 12:04 remaining. The 2000 BIG EAST Rookie of the Year, Troy Bell, scored 16 of his game-high 26 points in the second stanza to keep the Eagles undefeated on the year.
Marist was led by senior co-captain Drew Samuels (Elmont, NY) who recorded his third double-double of the year with his team-high 20 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Sean Kennedy (Northport, NY) dished out a game-high 10 assists.
The Red Foxes return to action this weekend when they host Western Michigan on Saturday, December 2nd at the McCann Center. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
