Poughkeepsie, NY--The Marist College women's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over visiting Rhode Island to improve to 3-0 on the year.

The Red Foxes were paced by the number one singles win of Amanda Doetsch who defeated All Erasmous, the reigning Atlantic-10 Conference Player of the Week in straight sets, 7-5, 7-5. Kara Bless defeated Lindsey Taylor 6-1, 6-1 in the number four singles match. Jen Edwards defeated Ern Dywer, 6-4, 6-4 at number five singles, and Courtney McGeever captured the number six singles match, 6-3, 4-6, 10-8, defeating Abbie Wolf-Cohen.

Bliss and Doetsch teamed up to win the number two singles 8-2, and Edwards and McGeever earned a 9-8 (9-7) victory at the number three doubles.

The Red Foxes will return to action on Sunday, October 7th when they host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe Iona in a 12:00 pm match.
