Nov. 9, 2002

Final Stats

Philadelphia, PA - The Marist College football team snapped a three-game losing streak this afternoon with a 49-23 win over Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) foe, LaSalle, this afternoon in Philadelphia, PA. The road win is the first of the year for Red Foxes, who improve to 6-4 on the year overall and are now 4-3 in MAAC action.

Adam Ercoli put his name into the Marist record books during the game, finishing with two tackles, both for a loss of yardage. The second tackle for loss was the 22nd of the year for Ercoli, giving him the school single season record, breaking the 1999 record set by Chris Meyer. Ercoli also had an interception in the game, which he returned two-yards for a touchdown.

Chris Price and Alfredo Riullano each had three touchdowns for the Red Foxes who racked up 509 yards on 80 carries. Price carried the ball 27 times for 199 yards on the day, bringing his rushing total to 1,092 for the season. Riullano carried the ball 28 times for 165 yards, without being held for a loss on any of the carries.

The Red Foxes rushing defense was its usual stingy self, holding the Explorers to eight yards on 18 carries in the game. It was the second lowest opponent rushing total of the year, as the Red Foxes held Sacred Heart to minus-14 yards rushing in the season opener. Ian Jackson led the way with six total tackles, while Charles Fowler had three tackles for loss, including a sack.

Marist will return to action on Saturday, November 16th, traveling to Albany, NY, to take on MAAC foe, Siena, in the season finale. That game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
