New Britain, Conn.---The Marist College women's lacrosse team (2-2) defeated Central Connecticut State University this afternoon, 11-7,giving the Red Foxes their second win of the season.
The Red Foxes were led in scoring by junior Molly Hanley (Simsbury, Conn), who scored five points, with four goals and one assist. Kelly Sullivan (Lindenhurst, NY) and Katie Tutak (North Tonawanda, NY) each registered two goals apiece in the Red Foxes' effort, while Lauren Serge (Albany, NY) added three points, having one goal and two assists. Rounding out the scoring for Marist were Lauren Sherman (Media, PA), tallying one goal and one assist, Maria Stehn (Massapequa, NY), adding a goal, and Brandi Peterson (Syracuse, NY) with one assist.
In the net, freshman goalkeeper Heather Ripp (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) had ten saves for the Red Foxes.
The Red Foxes return to action on Saturday, March 16th, where they will take on Rutgers University at 4:00 p.m., in Piscataway, NJ.
