Piscataway, NJ---The Marist College women's lacrosse team (2-3) was defeated 14-2 this afternoon at Rutgers University's Yurcak Field.

The Red Foxes were led in scoring by Brandi Peterson (Syracuse, NY), who registered each of Marist's two goals on the afternoon. Marist trailed the Scarlet Knights 7-0, until Peterson put them on the board with 0:53 remaining in the first half. Peterson tallied her second goal of the day with 17:49 left in the second half, lessening the deficit to 9-2.

Heather Ripp (Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) led in saves 13-3 while in goal for the Red Foxes. Rutgers held a 18-15 advantage in ground balls and outshot Marist 38-8. The Scarlet Knights also led in draw controls, 11-4.

The Red Foxes return to action on Wednesday, March 20th, in their home opener on the Hudson Valley campus against Quinnipiac. The game is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
