Poughkeepsie, NY---Marist College women's lacrosse player Brandi Petersen (Syracuse, NY) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, it was announced by the conference office this afternoon. It is the second Rookie of the Week honor Petersen has received this season, and the third time a Red Fox has received the accolade this year.

In the Red Foxes' three contests last week, Petersen tallied 13 points, scoring 10 goals and added three assists. This past weekend in Buffalo, Petersen helped Marist earn two crucial victories against Niagara and Canisius. At Niagara she contributed two goals and two assists, while at Canisius she scored four goals and had one assist. Earlier in the week, she scored four of the Red Foxes' nine goals in the 11-9 loss against Manhattan.

Playing in all 11 of Marist's games, Petersen leads the Red Foxes in scoring with 27 points, having registered 22 goals and five assists. In addition she is a leader in draw controls, with 11, and has also tallied 20 ground balls.

The Red Foxes, 4-7 overall and 2-2 in the MAAC, return to action on Wednesday, April 17th, as they travel to Loudonville, NY, for a league contest against Siena College. The game is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
