NEW YORK The Marist College men's track team set two school records Sunday
at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championships, held at the Armory Track
and Field Center.
The 3,200-meter relay team of sophomore Justin Harris (Wappingers Falls,
NY), sophomore Sean Prinz (Wantagh, NY), freshman Mike Bamberger (East
Northport, NY) and freshman Brian DeMarco (Whippany, NY) placed eighth
overall in 7:51.22, shattering the old mark by more than four seconds. The
team just missed qualifying for the IC4A Championships in the event; the
IC4A standard is 7:51.00. Harris led off with a 1:59.3 leg, followed by
Prinz in 1:56.2, Bamberger in 1:57.2 and DeMarco in 1:58.1.
Senior captain Eli Bisnett-Cobb (Ballston Spa, NY) continued his barrage on
the record books with a school record in the 60-meter high hurdles.
Bisnett-Cobb placed third overall in 8.28 seconds, narrowly missing the IC4A
qualifying mark of 8.25.
In the 3,000-meter run, sophomore Mike Schab (West Islip, NY) ran a
season-best time of 9:04.16. Freshman Jeff Belge (Brewerton, NY) ran a
personal-best time of 9:05.38.
The men's track team returns to action on Saturday at the FasTrack
Invitational at Boston University.
