Tampa, FL - The Marist College women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-10 overtime decision to Lafayette this morning in Tampa, Fl. The Red Foxes fall to 0-3 on the year.
The Red Foxes were led by Christine Connell, who tallied four goals in the game. Lauren Sherman had two goals and and one assist for the Red Foxes. Lauren Serge scored twice for Marist, with an assist, and the Red Foxes received a goal from Maria Reoch and Tara Mullins. Reoch also had an assist.
Heather Ripp played the entire game in goal for Marist, making 13 saves.
The game was a see-saw affair, with Marist holding a 9-8 lead in the final minutes, when Lafayette tied the game. Marist tallied first in the first of two overtimes, but the Leopards answered with two goals to earn the win.
Marist returns to action on Friday, March 19th, when St. Bonaventure makes the trip to Poughkeepsie, NY, weather permitting.
