The Marist College women's lacrosse team dropped a tough contest against Quinnipiac this afternoon falling 15-10.

The game was tightly contested through the first half. Neither team led by more than two goals and Quinnipiac carried just a one goal lead into the break at 8-7. The Bobcats broke the game open in the second half by scoring seven of the 10 markers in the final 30 minutes.

After a Marist goal by Tara Mullins in the opening minutes evened the game at 8-8, Quinnipiac added two goals the Red Foxes got the deficit back to a goal on shot by Christine Connell.

Quinnipiac responded with four straight goals to take a 14-9 lead. Amy Willis found the back of the net off a free position shot with 19:33 left. Kate Danowski finished a feed from Smallman with 12:07 to play.

Marist's Katie Tutak added a goal with just over a minute to play off a pass from Heather Kennedy but the Bobcats finished things off with an unassisted goal with four seconds to play.

The Red Foxes are back in action on Tuesday, March 23rd at 4:00pm as they face Drexel at Leonidoff Field.
