Results

Poughkeepsie, NY- The Marist College women's tennis team closed the 2003-04 regular season forcing their way past Fairleigh Dickinson 5-2 this morning. The Red Foxes are now 12-1 overall and 6-1 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

Marist took four out of six singles matches on the day. Annabel Hicks continued to play well for the Red Foxes setting down Meghan Hudson in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-0, while Courtney McGeever beat Allison Baretz, 6-0, 6-0 at the number four doubles. Freshman Megan Gureck (also picked up a win downing Jennifer Cookson, 6-1, 6-0.

Freshman Amanda Marcalus earned her first collegiate win easily defeating Krissy Suckow, 6-0, 6-1 at the number six singles. Marcalus was a double-winner on the day, teaming up with Yana Tikhonko to defeat Hudson and Cookson, 8-0 at number three doubles.

The two-seeded Red Foxes will face #7 Rider at the 2004 MAAC Tournament on Friday, April 23rd at 12:30pm at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens.
