Women's Track Breaks Two School Records At MAAC Championships

Lawrenceville, NJ- The Marist women's track broke two school records en route to a fourth place finish at the 2004 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships this afternoon at Rider University. Marist finished with a total 80.50 points, while Rider took the title with 266.50 points.

The 4x100 relay team of Marissa Artiano, Nicole Thompson, Chrissy McDevitt and Alison Keller clocked a time of 49.77, breaking their own school record of 50.72 set last month. The group placed second overall.

McDevitt took the 400m hurdle crown in a time of 64.70, breaking the old school record of 65.23, set my Thompson in 2002.

Keller finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.60, two second behind winner Justine Diana of Rider. Keller also took third in the long jump (5.01m 16-05.25).

The Red Foxes picked up several other third place finishes as Artiano placed third in the 100m dash (13.08) and Cheryl Fil in the 800m (2:20.85).

Marist is back in action on Sunday, April 9th, as they compete at the Albany Invitational.
