Red Foxes Have Historic Showing at Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – It was a historic weekend for Marist women's track & field at the Colonial Relays, as the Red Foxes delivered a record-breaking performance at Zable Stadium on April 3-4.

Marist placed third out of 23 teams with 75 points – the highest team finish in program history – fueled by an incredible eight school records, all on the women's side. The weekend showcased both dominance at the top and depth across the lineup, highlighted by record-breaking performances spanning events from sprints to throws.

Saturday proved especially memorable, as every relay the Red Foxes entered set a new program record. The 4x100 relay team of Makenzy Nielsen, Gabby Bozeth, Lexy Samperi, and Alyssa Dapont opened the surge with a time of 47.48, breaking a record that had just been set one week prior. The sprint medley relay followed with a mark of 4:06.16, taking down a 24-year-old record from 2002.

Marist continued rewriting the record books in the distance medley relay, where Sierra Fisher, Rebecca Maclaren, Julia Zydanowicz, and Parker O'Brien combined for a 12:09.12 finish, eclipsing the previous standard set in 2019. The 4x400 relay team of Julia Kropo, Julianna Mirabile, Grace Fletcher, and Elise Attiogbe capped the relay sweep with a time of 3:53.01, breaking last year's record.

Individually, the Red Foxes delivered four more school records, including a standout performance from Julianna Mirabile in the 800-meter invitational. Mirabile won the event in 2:10.08, breaking a 26-year-old school record in dominant fashion.

Gabby Bozeth added a victory and record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.42, while Julia Kropo set a new standard in the 400-meter dash at 57.45, surpassing the previous record set in 2017. In the field, Jenna Borselle broke one of the oldest records in program history, winning the shot put with a throw of 11.55 meters, eclipsing a mark that had stood since 1992.

Marist also saw strong performances throughout the meet, including a win from Mallory Holloway in the 10,000 meters (35:42.86) and a runner-up finish from Alicia Ramos in the 100-meter hurdles (15.08). Lexy Samperi added a third-place finish in the long jump, while Kropo contributed in the field with a fifth-place showing in the javelin.

Across the board, the Red Foxes posted numerous personal bests and season-best performances, reinforcing the team's depth during one of the most successful meets in program history.
