Poughkeepsie, NY - Marist's Fifi Camara (Conakry, Guinea) tied her career high of 23 points and recorded 12 rebounds to lead the Red Foxes past Loyola tonight. The double-double was Camara's fifth of the season, second straight and fourth in Marist's five MAAC contests this season. After holding a 30-24 advantage at halftime, the Red Foxes rocketed on a 20-7 run in the first eight minutes of the second half, securing their double-digit win.

Loyola started the game on a 6-0 run before Camara started the scoring for Marist at 16:40. Marist pulled back and took an 8-7 lead off another Camara jumper before Krystle Harrington sank a free throw to tie it at 8-8 at the 11:51 mark. Neither team would score again for almost three minutes before Marist went on an 17-6 run, capped by a Sarah Smrdel (Mentor, OH) layup to give the Foxes the 25-14 advantage with under five in the half. Brittany Dunn spurred the Greyhounds late-half comeback, pulling her team within six at the half, 30-24.

Senior Megan Vetter (Havertown, PA) drained two free-throws followed by a three-pointer to start Marist's 20-7 run in the second and the Foxes never looked back. Lauren Troupe answered Vetter with a trey of her own at 18:28, bringing the score to 35-29, but Loyola would be without a bucket for the next five minutes. Harrington sank two free-throws at the 13:32 mark to pull her team within 41-31 and end the scoring drought.

Marist kept the pressure on all half and a Kristin Keller (Poughkeepsie, NY) three-point play sealed the Greyhounds fate as Marist went up 55-35 with under ten minutes left in the game. Neither team would score again four the next four and a half minutes but Vetter broke the drought with a jumper at 5:28 to give the Foxes their largest lead of the night, 57-35. Loyola outscored Marist 13-7 in the closing minutes but could never pull within single digits.

Camara's 23 points and 12 rebounds led all scorers and rebounders on the night while Vetter and Keller each chipped in 11 and 10 points, and three assists, respectively for Marist. Freshman Nikki Flores (Montvale, NJ) tallied six boards and four points for the Foxes while fellow point guard Alisa Kresge (Holmdel, NJ) dished out seven assists to lead Marist.

Troupe paced the Greyhounds with 13 points while Katie Scherle tallied 11 boards in the losing effort.

With the win, Marist improves to 8-6 (2-3 MAAC) while Loyola falls to 4-10 (3-2 MAAC). The Marist women return to action on Sunday when they face off against Rider at 2:00 p.m. at the McCann Center.
