NEW YORK, N.Y. - Tim Smith's Marist men's tennis squad picked up three big wins Sunday on the final day of competition at the Columbia Invitational in New York.
Marist's Federico Rolan teamed with Mark Santucci to knock off Manhattan's No. 1 doubles team of Zoltan Bus and Filip Szymik by a score of 8-5. Rolan later picked up a singles win over Szymik 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, while Leonardo Rodriguez defeated the Jaspers' Alon Cohen 6-4, 6-1. Manhattan won the MAAC title a season ago.
Additionally, Marist's doubles squad of Rodriguez and Pedro Genovese defeated Yale's No. 2 doubles team by a score of 9-7.
The Red Foxes will be back in action on Saturday at 5 p.m. against Binghamton and on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Colgate.
