EDISON, N.J.-Junior guard Will Whittington (Kingwood, Tx.) was named MAAC Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Whittington tallied a game-high 20 points in the Red Foxes' 56-53 victory over St. John's on Saturday in Madison Square Garden. He also nailed all six of his free throws, including two with 24 seconds to play to salt away the school's first win over a BIG EAST school in 15 tries.

Whittington is the team's third-leading scorer at 13.4 points per game and has a team-high 17 3-pointers.

Marist (3-4 overall) will face St. Bonaventure (5-3 overall) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the McCann Center. The Red Foxes defeated the Bonnies 74-58 last season in Olean, N.Y.
