POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Junior guards Jared Jordan (Hartford, Conn.) and Will Whittington (Kingwood, Tx.) combined for 46 of Marist's 82 points to lead the Red Foxes' to an 82-75 victory over Siena Friday evening at the sold out McCann Center. With the win, Marist picked up its seventh straight win, the longest since the Red Foxes won eight to begin the 1998-99 campaign. In all, Marist has won 10 of its last 12. The Red Foxes hit 15 3-pointers in the game, tying the school record it set earlier this season in the 85-77 win over the Saints in the Pepsi Arena.

The win came in front of 3,200 fans, among them Marist alum and former NBA All-Star Rik Smits, who took part in the school's alumni game earlier in the afternoon.

Jordan finished with a game-high 26 points on 9-for-12 shooting with three steals, while Whittington poured in six 3-pointers on his way to 20 points. Jordan also registered his third double-double of the season with 11 assists. The 6'2 guard entered the game second nationally in assists (7.9) and minutes (38.5). Senior Carl Hood (Houston, Tx.) also posted 10 points.

Redshirt sophomore Ryan Stilphen (Bay Village, Ohio) led Marist with nine rebounds and powered Marist to a 34-22 advantage on the boards. The Red Foxes have outrebounded nine of their last 10 opponents.

Siena was led by 18 points apiece from Kenny Hasbrouck and Kojo Mensah, while Antoine Jordan had 17. David Ryan also posted 10 points, while Jordan led the way with six rebounds. Hasbrouck was the leading assist man with eight, paired with Mensah's four steals.

Marist surged to a 14-point lead, its largest of the first half at the 8:53 mark on a free throw by sophomore Shae McNamara (Milwaukee, Wisc.). The Saints cut the lead to six (41-35) on a layup by Jordan at the 3:57 mark before the Red Foxes pushed the advantage to 12 on a jumper by junior Miles Orman (Englewood, N.J.) with 40 seconds left in the half for the halftime margin.

After Marist increased the lead to its largest of the game (15, 52-37) at the 17:54 mark on a 3-pointer by Whittington, the Saints reeled off a 22-6 run over the next 10:40. Siena took the lead at the 7:14 mark on a layup by Hasbrouck (59-58), but quickly surrendered it to a layup by Marist's Jordan 24 seconds later.

Siena fought back down the stretch and sliced the Marist lead to three with 49 seconds left (78-75), but the Red Foxes put the game away with free throws by Hood, Stilphen and another layup by Hood.

Despite giving up 40 points in the paint to Siena, the Red Foxes more than made for it by nailing 10 more 3-pointers than the Saints.

Marist head coach Matt Brady also improved to .500 in both his overall (23-23) and MAAC records (14-14) with the victory.

Marist finished at 54.5 percent (30-for-55) from the field, while Siena hit 52.6 percent (30-for-57). The Red Foxes finished at 45.5 percent from the arc (15-for-33), while the Saints drilled five of 13 long range attempts (38.5 percent). The Saints held the edge at the line, connecting on 76.9 percent (10-for-13), while Marist hit 58.3 percent (7-for-12).
