POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Marist point guard Jared Jordan was honored Thursday by the USBWA (United States Basketball Writers Association) and www.collegeinsider.com. The Harford, Conn. native currently leads the nation in assists per game at 8.5 per contest.
Jordan was named to the USBWA's District II squad and a Mid-Major All-American by www.collegeinsider.com. The website also listed the Jordan as the league's Most Valuable Player after he captured All-Tournament honors last weekend at the MAAC Tournament in Albany.
The Marist men (19-10) tallied 10 road wins this season, which was the most in school history and tied for third in the nation.
