Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Ten different players scored for LeMoyne in a 17-10 victory over Marist at Leonidoff Field this afternoon. The Dolphins fired 50 shots at the Red Foxes in a fast-paced offensive battle. Marist rookie Stephanie Garland (Long Valley, N.J.) had another big game, tallying four goals and one assist.

LeMoyne (7-2/3-0 MAAC) made a statement early in the game, scoring three times in the first seven minutes. Liz Hewitt and Whitney Vecchio combined to score and assist each other on the first two while Amanda Keegan scored her first of four goals to give her team a 3-0 lead at 23:47.

Garland converted a free position shot at 20:49 to put Marist on the board before LeMoyne scored two quick goals by Keegan and Lisa McCarthy to extend its lead to 5-1 at 19:54. The Red Foxes answered back as Garland scored off a pass from classmate Kate Noftsker (Needham, Mass.) but LeMoyne tacked on two more to go up 7-2 at 15:59.

Marist rookie Carolyn Sumcizk (Syosset, N.Y.) won the ensuing draw and got the ball to a well-positioned Jessica O'Brien (Wantagh, N.Y.) who fired one past LeMoyne's Samantha Falcone for her lone goal of the day at 15:32. The scoring frenzy slowed during the next six minutes before LeMoyne's Lauren Byrne snuck one past the Red Foxes at 9:56. Garland tallied her third goal of the day off another free position attempt, taking the score to 8-4, LeMoyne. The Dolphins would score twice more in the half to take a 10-4 lead at the break.

The Red Foxes got off to a quick start in the second, as Garland controlled the draw and got it up to the offense where Ali Carnabuci (Albertson, N.Y.) fed the ball to classmate Lindsey Diener (Nanuet, N.Y.) for a goal at 29:38. LeMoyne answered back with a pair of goals before Garland netted her fourth of the contest before assisting on classmate Megan Frey's (Pearl River, N.Y.) goal at 21:17.

Marist had cut LeMoyne's lead to 12-7, but after a time-out, the visitors regrouped and scored three unanswered goals to take a 15-7 lead at 12:39 after a Kylie Rosette chipper. O'Brien grabbed the ensuing draw control and quickly got the ball to Carnabuci, who made a nice move before hammering home a goal. The Dolphins increased their lead to 17-8 with their last goal of the day coming at 10:43.

The Red Foxes had some big defensive stands late in the contest and Carnabuci scored her second goal of the day at 4:23 off a free position shot. Noftsker tallied Marist's last goal of the day at 1:54, streaking through the middle of LeMoyne's offense and firing one past Falcone.

Marist goalkeeper Liz Burkhard (Wantagh, N.Y.) had 22 saves in goal, just three shy of the school record while her counterpart, Falcone, tallied five.

Garland finished with two ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover to go along with her four goals and one assist. Junior Joanna Maehr (Stony Brook, N.Y.) tallied a game-high six draw controls along with four ground balls.
