EASTON, PA. - The Marist Men's Lacrosse team won its fourth straight contest on Tuesday night with a 9-8 double overtime win at Lafayette. Freshman Matt Teichmann (Huntington, N.Y.) scored the game winner for the Foxes with 3:13 left in the second overtime period. Senior Keith Detelj (Sayville, N.Y.) led Marist with three goals on the night.

Marist jumped out to a 3-0 lead, with Detelj getting things started just 47 seconds into the game. After a busy first quarter of play, though, the game was tied at 4-4. Marist would shutout Lafayette in the second period with Pete O'Hara (Babylon, N.Y.) and Detelj scoring the only two goals of the period and giving Marist a 6-4 lead at halftime.

Lafayette would go on to outscore the Foxes 4-2 in the second half, including a 3-1 advantage in the fourth quarter, to even the game after regulation.

After a scoreless first overtime, Teichmann buried a feed from Pat VanHall (Fairport, N.Y.) to send Marist to the victory. Teichmann continued his solid rookie campaign with a goal and an assist on the night.

Detelj and Teichmann were two of four Marist players to have multiple points in the game, with O'Hara and Paul Santavicca (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) each registering two in the contest.

Sophomore goalie Ryan Penner (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made 15 saves in the contest and raised his record to 4-6 on the season.

Marist was out shot in the contest 39-30 and was edged in ground balls by Lafayette 31-23. The Foxes won just nine of the 22 draws in the contest and converted two of three extra man opportunities.

With the win, Marist raises its record to 4-6 overall. Marist will stay on the road for a Saturday tilt at Holy Cross. Face-off in Worcester is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
