Final Stats
KINGSTON, N.Y. - Junior Ali Carnabuci (Albertson, N.Y.) scored six goals for Marist in a 15-8 win over Canisius on Senior Night at Dietz Stadium. The lone senior on the team, Joanna Maehr (Stony Brook, N.Y.), posted two assists in the game for Marist, who improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the MAAC Lacrosse League.
Marist held at 8-3 advantage at the half on Saturday night, with Carnabuci scoring half of her goals in the frame. She opened the scoring in the contest with her first marker just 30 seconds in. Carnabuci was also 2-3 on free position shots in the game and won one draw control.
Freshman Liz Falco (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) also had a big game, scoring four goals and adding an assist. She also picked up a pair of ground balls in the game and caused a turnover.
Maehr also had a solid outing in her final home game for the Red Foxes. Aside form her two helpers, she won five draw controls, picked up four ground balls and caused four Canisius turnovers.
Junior goalie Liz Burkhard (Wantagh, N.Y.) played another strong game between the pipes on Saturday, making 10 saves.
Marist has two games remaining in the regular season, as it will travel to Le Moyne on April 20 and then Siena on April 22 to close out the regular season.
