WASHINGTON - Marist senior Christine Ong (Tarzana, Calif.) won a pair of matches to advance to the final in the main draw of the Georgetown Classic on Saturday. Additionally, Ong teamed with sophomore Cassie Strange (Valencia, Calif.) to advance to the semifinals in doubles.
In singles, Ong recorded a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Georgetown's Liz Winokur before topping teammate Cassie Strange slipped past Georgetown's Courtney Olson and Briana Kearney in doubles action, 9-7.
Marist's Alexa Strange also advanced to the doubles semifinals by cruising to an 8-3 victory of Georgetown's Kelsey Darnell and Alex Sebia.
Play at the Georgetown Classic will conclude on Sunday.
