POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- Freshman Kaitlyn O'Sullivan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) scored four goals and assisted on another, and Stephanie Garland (Long Valley, N.J.) had three goals and three assists, as the Marist women's lacrosse team pounded Manhattan 20-7 at Tenney Stadium on Sunday. The Red Foxes jumped out to 10-4 lead at halftime and never looked back.
With the score tied at two, Marist (5-5, 2-1 MAAC) went on to score eight of last ten goals of the first half in building a nice half time lead. They also scored ten straight between the 4:30 mark of the first half and the 16:54 mark in the second.
Liz Burkahrd (Wantagh, N.Y.) was fantastic in goal for Marist. She 15 saves on the day and was essential in keeping Manhattan to only a 33 percent conversion rate on free position attempts (three of nine).
Lindsey Diener (Nanuet, N.Y.) also had a solid game for Marist. The senior had two goals, four assists, and three ground balls. Ali Carnabuci (Albertson, N.Y.) had three goals and Jessica O'Brien (Wantagh, N.Y.) netted two.
Kate Noftsker (Needham, Mass.) had a goal and two assists, while Megan White (Copiague, N.Y.), Kellie Considine (Wantagh, N.Y.), Lauren Ciccarello (Wantagh, N.Y.), Carolyn Sumcizk (Syosset, N.Y.), and Cristin Begley (Brookville, Md.) all had one goal apiece.
Nicole Musto (Glastonbury, Conn.), Lindsay Rinefierd (Smithtown, N.Y.), and Garland all caused three Manhattan (5-3, 0-2 MAAC) turnovers.
The Red Foxes did a great job keeping the ball in the Manhattan zone all game, as the Jaspers only were successful on six of 13 clear attempts.

Marist will visit Lehigh on Tuesday and Canisius on Friday. Both games are 7 p.m. starts.
