CHARLESTON, S.C. - Red-shirt sophomore catcher Bryce Nugent (Binghamton, N.Y.) had five hits, while sophomore center fielder Michael Gallic (Tolland, Conn.) and sophomore third baseman Ricky Pacione (Newburgh, N.Y.) drove in four runs apiece as the Marist baseball team cruised to an 18-7 victory at Charleston Southern on Saturday.

Marist entered the top of the fifth trailing 3-1, but a two-run single by senior left fielder Brian McDonough (Hanover, Mass.) tied the score, and Nugent followed with a three-run homer two batters later to put the Red Foxes up for good.
In the top of the seventh, with Marist up by a score of 8-5, Gallic belted a grand slam to give Marist a seven-run lead. It was his second home run in as many days.
Marist and Charleston Southern will conclude their three-game series on Sunday at 2 p.m. Junior right-hander B.J. Martin (1-4, 4.34 ERA last year) is Marist's scheduled starter, while freshman left-hander Charlie McCready will start for Charleston Southern.
