EDISON, N.J. - Red-shirt senior forward Ryan Schneider (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) of the Marist men's basketball team was named Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and freshman guard R.J. Hall (Bloomfield, N.J.) was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team, it was announced Monday.
Schneider led the Red Foxes in scoring (16.1 points per game), rebounding (8.2 per game), minutes (37.7 per game), three-pointers (87), free throws made (105), free throws attempted (126), free-throw percentage (.826), steals (44) and blocked shots (23) in the regular season. He ranks in the top 10 in the conference in seven statistical categories. Schneider was named MAAC Player of the Week on Dec. 29.
Hall averaged 7.3 points and 3.1 assists per game this season. He is sixth in the MAAC in three-point percentage at .375 (36-for-96), and scored in double digits 11 times in the regular season. Hall was named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice this season, on Dec. 29 and Jan. 5.
Marist (9-22 overall, 4-14 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) is the 10th seed in the 2009 Citizens' Bank MAAC Championships. The Red Foxes will face seventh-seeded Iona in an opening round contest on Friday at 9:30 p.m.
