POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - For the second straight week, a Marist men's lacrosse player has earned a MAAC Lacrosse League weekly award. Senior goalie Ryan Penner (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was named Defensive Player of the Week after allowing only four goals in Marist's 7-4 win at Mount St. Mary's on Saturday.
Penner had 16 saves and a save percentage of .800 in the win on Saturday, not allowing a goal in the second half. He currently leads the MAAC Lacrosse League with 14.4 saves per game and is third in the MAAC in goals against average at 7.55.
The Red Foxes will go on the road this Saturday to take on MAAC opponent Wagner. The opening faceoff in Staten Island is at 1 p.m.
