Former Marist Standout Jared Jordan Inks Deal With Bonn Telekom Baskets In Germany

Aug. 13, 2009

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Bonn Telekom Baskets of Germany have announced the addition of former Marist point guard Jared Jordan to their roster for the upcoming season. Jordan, who is the Red Foxes' all-time assists leader with 813, played at Marist from 2003-07.

The Hartford, Conn., native was originally selected 45th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2007 NBA Draft and saw action in all five of the team's summer league contests, averaging 4.2 points per game and 4.8 assists per game. The Clippers then traded Jordan's rights to the New York Knicks, where he played for the team in training camp.

After his tenure with the Knicks, Jordan took his game overseas, spending the 2007-08 season with Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania. He then latched on with the Phoenix Suns' summer league squad and appeared in training camp last year with the New Orleans Hornets. He spent last season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Developmental League. Jordan excelled with the Vipers, averaging 10.6 points per game and ranking second in the league in assists per game with 8.8. He also set the franchise record for assists in a game with 21 against Fort Wayne on Feb. 26.

In his senior year at Marist, Jordan earned Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors and led the nation in assists for the second consecutive season. It was the first time that feat was accomplished since Southern University's Avery Johnson did so in 1986-87.
