Complete 2010-11 Women's Basketball Schedule

EDISON, N.J. - The Marist Athletics Department announced the complete 30-game women's basketball schedule on Friday. Following its competitive 12-game non-conference slate, the five-time defending Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) champions will play 18 conference games from Jan. 2 - Feb. 27. During the conference season, Marist will make one appearance on ESPNU, when it plays at Iona on Friday, Feb. 11 at 4:30 p.m.

In the first seven games of the MAAC season, the Red Foxes will host its longest homestand, three straight games, and make its most lengthy road trip, a four-game swing. The schedule opens with three home contests against Rider on Sunday, Jan. 2, Iona on Tuesday, Jan. 4 and Saint Peter's on Saturday, Jan. 8.

Following the three-game homestand, Marist will take to the road for its next four matchups. The Red Foxes will play at Loyola on Monday, Jan. 10, and then travel to western New York on the weekend of Jan. 14-16. During that weekend, Marist will face Canisius on Friday, Jan. 14, and Niagara on Sunday, Jan. 16. The road trip concludes at Draddy Gymnasium when Marist is welcomed by Manhattan on Saturday, Jan. 22.

Loyola will return to the McCann Center on Monday, Jan. 24. Following the Marist-Loyola game, the Red Foxes will travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. to take on the Rider Broncs on Friday, Jan. 28.

To close out the regular season, Marist will play five of its final nine games at the McCann Center. The stretch starts on Monday, Jan. 31 when the Red Foxes host Siena. It continues when the Niagara Purple Eagles come to town on Friday, Feb. 4.

Following a pair of road games at Fairfield (Feb. 6) and Iona (Feb. 11), the Red Foxes will return home to take on Canisius on Monday, Feb. 14 and Manhattan on Friday, Feb. 18.

Marist will return to the road when it faces Saint Peter's and Siena on Feb. 21 and Feb. 25, respectively. The regular season concludes with Senior Day at the McCann Center on Sunday, Feb. 27, when the Red Foxes host the Fairfield Stags.

The 2011 MAAC Women's Basketball Championship will be held at the Arena at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn., from March 3-6.

Game times and a complete promotions schedule will be announced at a later date.

The Red Foxes will learn where they rank in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, and the individuals selected to the Preseason All-MAAC Teams at MAAC Media Day on Tuesday, Oct. 26. The event will be held at BB King Blues Club and Grill in New York City.

Marist opens the regular season on at the 2010 Commerce Bank Wildcat Classic at Kansas State University on Friday, Nov. 12. The Red Foxes will take on St. John's in the first round of the event at 3 p.m. ET.
