BRONX, N.Y. - Competing in their first dual meet of the 2010-11 season, the Marist men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Fordham at the Messmore Aquatic Center on Thursday evening. The women's squad fell to the Rams, 150-93, while the men's team dropped a 146-91 decision.
Sophomore Kate Conard (East Setauket, N.Y.) placed first in the women's 1,000-yd. freestyle with a time of 10:22.35. Conard also finished first in the women's 500-yd. freestyle with a time of 5:03.88.
Sophomore Katie Larkin (Huntington, N.Y.) placed first in the 200-yd. backstroke with a time of 2:29.68.
On the men's side, reigning MAAC Men's Diver of the Week Brian Bolstad (Highland, N.Y.) captured the 1-meter dive with a score of 310.72. Bolstad also won the 3-meter dive with a score of 284.17.
In the 200-yd. butterly, sophomore Stephen Miller (Downingtown, Pa.) placed first with a time of 2:01.25.
Marist will return to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m. when they host their first MAAC dual meet of the season against Rider.
