PITTSBURGH, PA. – Junior diver Brian Bolstad (Highland, N.Y.) highlighted the Marist men's swimming and diving performances on day one of the ECAC Championships Friday evening. Bolstad won the 3-meter event with a score of 296.70. In the same event, senior Mitchell Katz (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) finished four spots behind Bolstad, in fifth with a score of 248.90.
Other individual performers for the Red Foxes included junior Steven Vendetta (South Windsor, Conn.) and classmate Leo Draham (Blue Bell, Pa.). Vendetta took 11th in the 500-yd. freestyle in a time of 4:38.90. Draham finished the 500-yd. freestyle three spots behind Vendetta in 4:42.12, in 14th place.
The championships will resume on Saturday morning at 10 a.m., on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. The morning session will qualify athletes in events 13-25. The finals will begin at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening.
