BALTIMORE, MD. - The Marist women's tennis team needed all three of its singles wins and the doubles point to get past Loyola 4-3 in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) dual match on Sunday. The Red Foxes won two out of three doubles matches as the team improved to 8-9 overall and 6-1 in conference play. In its last six wins, Marist has won the doubles point.

Marist found the doubles point critical as it won the first and second spots in the lineup. Freshmen Kayla O'Donovan (Lynbrook, N.Y.) bested Joy Johnson and Andie Keyser-Baker, 8-6.

At first singles, Raynor won her fifth straight match as she defeated Janasek in three sets, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). The Red Foxes also garnered victories at second and third singles.

McCarthy and Sun both earned straight set victories at second and third singles respectively. McCarthy won at second singles over Swan, 6-3, 6-0. At third singles, Sun defeated Johnson, 6-4, 7-5.

The three players who notched singles victories were all double winners on the day for Marist.
