Marist men's basketball team (4-6) fell to New Hampshire (4-4) by a score of
73-56 in the first game for the Red Foxes following a ten-day break for exams. Devin Price's (Inglewood, Calif.) team-leading
14 point showing wasn't enough as the Wildcats shot 54.5 percent in the second
half to pull away from the Red Foxes.
After a slow start by both teams, in which they combined for
six points over the first five minutes, a 10-0 run by Marist put the Red Foxes
ahead 12-2 at the 12:28 mark. Sophomore Pieter Prinsloo (Johannesburg, South
Africa) and Price led the effort with four points a piece.
New Hampshire quickly came back with a strong run of their
own at 11-2 to bring the game within one at 14-13 with 9:22. Over the next
three minutes, the teams would trade baskets, with neither leading by more than
three points. During this span of play, Prinsloo would notch his third basket
to give him a career-best sixth point.

Coming out in the second half, Marist struggled to contain
Alvin Abreu as the senior shooting guard scored eight points in the first 5:13
of play. Combined with 70 percent field goal shooting, UNH was able to stretch their
lead to 15 at 47-32.
The Red Foxes cut the lead to 11 points with 13:17 to play
on the strength of six consecutive made free throws by sophomore Adam Kemp
(Sherrill, N.Y.).
Marist continued to pressure the Wildcats throughout, but to
no avail as the hot UNH shooting persisted to a tune of 54.5 percent.
