POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Freshman goalkeeper Alexis Solaro (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) was named the MAAC Water Polo League Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. The award was her first of her career and the first MAAC award for Marist this season.

For the week, Solaro made 59 saves in eight starts, and posted a 9.25 goals against average. She made 10 saves in a 9-6 victory over Concordia (Calif.) and an additional 11 saves in Marist's 16-8 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on the final day of the Lancer Invitational in Riverside, Calif.

Marist will return to action April 2 at Harvard at 2 p.m., followed by a second game against Connecticut College at 4 p.m.
