LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - In a matchup with the fourth and final qualifying position in the MAAC tournament up for grabs, Marist and Siena met in their regular season finale. After a 5-5 score at half, the Red Foxes came up short as the Saints won the second half, 3-1 and the game by a final score of 8-6. Junior Shannon Haas (Farmingdale, N.Y.) led Marist with three goals.

Freshman Jamie Romano (Kings Park, N.Y.) was the lone goal scorer for Marist in this stretch.
Even though Marist was efficient and effective on the offensive end for the majority of the first half, Siena's advantage in the draw control category (8-3) gave the Saints extra possessions and opportunities to even the score.
Coming out of the second half all even at 5-5, Siena took their first lead of the game fifteen seconds in, as Caitlin Mikel notched her first goal of the game at 29:45. Haas responded with her third goal of the game and 18th of the season at 25:19 to even the score at 6-6. Two and a half minutes later, Siena's Amanda Corso scored the game winner at 22:57. Over the final 22 plus minutes of action, each side tried valiantly to get something going with their offenses, but the respective defenses came up with stop after stop. A goal by Siena with 9:38 gave the Saints a two-goal advantage at 8-6, which eventually became the final score.
Defensively, senior Erin Betsch (Port Washington, N.Y.) had a prominent role in holding the Saints' offense in check as she caused two turnovers and picked up a team-high three ground balls. Sophomore Jessica Irvine (Hauppauge, N.Y.) also had a standout performance in the back as she led the team with three caused turnovers. Sophomore goalie Ashley Casiano (South Windsor, Conn.) made 10 saves on 18 Siena shots on goal for a 56% save percentage.
