POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Marist Athletics Department will host a men's and women's tennis selection show gathering on Tuesday, May 3 at 4:45 p.m. in Marist's Historic Cornell Boathouse. The selection shows will air live via web stream on NCAA.com as both teams will learn their first-round opponents in the NCAA Tournament. The women's selection show is scheduled to start at 5 p.m., and will be directly followed by the men's show at 5:30 p.m.
The event is open to the public, and will begin at 4:45 p.m. in Marist's Historic Cornell Boathouse. Light refreshments and soft drinks will be provided.
Marist Men's Tennis Road to the NCAA Tournament
After going undefeated in MAAC regular season play, the top-seeded Marist men's tennis team defeated second-seeded Fairfield 6-0 to win the MAAC Championship. The Red Foxes won the championship for the fourth straight year, and will compete in the NCAA Tournament for the ninth time in program history.
Marist Women's Tennis Road to the NCAA Tournament
In the 2011 MAAC Championship match the Marist women's tennis team avenged its only regular season conference loss as the Red Foxes defeated top-seeded Fairfield, 4-3. Marist has now won the MAAC championship in 2007, 2008 and 2011.
