Aug. 19, 2011

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently announced its team and individual award winners for academic achievement. The CSCAA recognized the Marist men's and women's swimming and diving programs with their CSCAA Scholar All American Team award for the 2010-11 academic year. Individually, junior Kate Conard (East Setauket, N.Y.) earned the Scholar All American Honorable Mention award.

Conard earned the Honorable Mention Scholar All American award as she achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and achieved a "B" time standard, but did not qualify to compete in the national championship. She was the lone MAAC athlete to garner an individual academic award from the CSCAA.

The men's and women's programs earned this honor for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The men's team was one of three MAAC squads to be named a Scholar All American Team, while the women were one of five in the conference.
